It was a brilliant first taste of live crowd funding for The Childhood Trust when we partnered The Funding Network (TFN) recently.

Entrepreneur Lara Morgan started by giving an empassioned short talk about why she gives and why prevention is key to her giving. The audience had been invited from members of TFN and trustees & sponsors of the three pitching charities.

Lara had also met with the charities, who had been preselected from around eight who applied to take part in an effort to raise around £6,000 each by participating and pitching at the ‘friendly’ dragon’s den style event.

All three surpassed their own expections, deservedly so. And the donations are still coming in. For those who could not join us at our first event, here is a short video filmed on the night by George O’Regan(17).

In total over £26,000 was raised including some match funding by The Childhood Trust and we are pleased to say that we will be planning a repeat event at some point in 2016. To apply or to offer sponsorship support & goodwill, please contact Lisa Gagliani via Lisa@childhoodtrust.org.uk.
