Over 7000 Santas will descend on the capital in a Christmas Mission to raise in excess of £700,000 for hundreds of UK charities including the Childhood Trust. Taking place on Sunday 6th December, the fun run is set to bring a flash of red and Christmas cheer to Victoria Park, London, as Santas from up and down the country tackle the 5km and 10km courses. The Childhood Trust supports the children across London by alleviating the impact of poverty on their lives whether its practical stuff they need such as food in the mornings and after school, through to emotional support if family life is less than ideal for any reason and inspirational help such as through the arts and sports so that talented but poor children can participate and aspire. The money raised from this our first Santa Run will go towards helping us to support more local grass roots projects working in areas of very high deprivation in London boroughs. Lisa Gagliani our chief executive is taking part herself to raise the profile of our charity, " I am NOT a runner, in fact I would much rather bake mince pies for ALL the runners that join us, but that's not on offer...so by training 3 times a week and doing this run instead I hope to become a little fitter myself and show that my making an effort we can all make life a little bit sweeter for the poorest children across London."
