Our Network's mission

We select, fund, and strengthen voluntary organisations working in London, providing much-needed investment for practical interventions that are proven to improve children’s lives. Our network consists of 135 carefully selected charities delivering impactful services to an estimated 390,000 vulnerable children, aligned with our four key impact areas:

  • Physical Health
  • Mental Wellbeing
  • Home & Community Environment
  • Learning & Work Readiness

How does it work?

We invest in the core and project work delivered by these organisations, through our two annual match-funding campaigns – Christmas Challenge in December and Champions for Children in June.

Last year we invested £2 million as the starting match-pot; through the campaign match-funding model this was leveraged x 4 times, enabling our network to raise £8 million.

What's the benefit?

Beyond match-funding, we help charities build fundraising capacity with:

  • Workshops on campaign strategy, messaging, and social media
  • One-on-one support throughout the campaign
  • Networking opportunities with other children-focused charities
  • Increased visibility through broader campaigns and events
  • We also invite partners to engage in our other initiatives, like the London Child Poverty Summit, to further amplify their impact.

This is our sixth [match-funding appeal] and each year brings fresh insights. We’re so grateful to be part of a campaign that brings people together with a shared purpose. It feels like a real team effort working alongside The Childhood Trust; such a unique relationship to have with a funder.

Jamie's Farm

I'd describe the Childhood Trust as educational, encouraging, and supportive. They build our fundraising knowledge, understand the challenges small charities face, and make us feel like we’re in it together.

Spring Community Hub

Our growth has gone hand-in-hand with The Childhood Trust. Their campaigns have helped us develop a clear fundraising strategy, build confidence, and reach supporters in new ways.
