Did you catch us in Interior Designer magazine last month? We’re thrilled to share that our Transforming Spaces programme has been featured in the Interior Designer magazine to celebrate our latest collaboration with award-winning interior designer Katharine Pooley and her team. This marks Katharine’s 8th year as an ambassador for our work, and together we’ll be reimagining a child’s bedroom in a truly transformative way.

Why is this such a powerful collaboration? Today, over 700,000 children in London, around 35%, are growing up in poverty. Many lack access to basic necessities, including food, clothing, and a safe place to rest. The cost-of-living crisis is making life even harder, leaving more children vulnerable and at risk. Our Transforming Spaces programme tackles this challenge head-on. Each week, we redesign and refurbish bedrooms for children impacted by poverty, creating safe and nurturing environments where they can sleep, learn, play, and thrive.

We’re proud to have Katharine championing this part of our work. Her approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, ensuring every design reflects the unique needs of each child. In 2025 alone, she has collaborated on seven projects, helping to transform the lives of 21 children. These aren’t just beautiful rooms, they’re sanctuaries that support children’s mental, emotional, and educational development, laying the foundations for healthier, happier futures.

“The Childhood Trust is a cause that holds deep personal significance for me and resonates with everyone at my studio,” said Katharine Pooley. “Creating a space where a child feels safe, comfortable, and inspired to learn and dream isn’t just important, it’s absolutely essential. Every child deserves that sanctuary, and it’s a privilege to be part of making that a reality.”

Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive at The Childhood Trust, added:

“The Childhood Trust’s partnership with the Katharine Pooley team exemplifies the power of a shared vision. With 700,000 children in London living in poverty, we know the profound impact a safe, warm space can have. This collaboration allows the Katharine Pooley team to bring their exceptional talent and passion to families who need it most—and we are incredibly proud of what we achieve together.”
